What’s In My Toddler’s Diaper Bag.
Traveling with toddlers, particularly on a long-haul flight, can be anxiety producing for even the most seasoned of voyagers. How many diapers to pack? Best activities to keep them entertained? What am I forgetting (and what can I leave home)?
With two children under four, I have diaper bag packing down to a science. Below is my tried and true list of what works well for us.
ACTIVITIES. You know your children best. If you’re looking for inspiration, some of my children’s favorites tend to include a Dimpl or fidget popper, Indestructibles Books, Melissa & Doug reusable puffy stickers, Melissa & Doug Water Wows, a mini sketch pad and crayons, a mini toy car, a few mini PlayDohs and Mudpuppy flash cards.
ALVABABY WET/DRY BAG. Essential for wet and/or soiled clothing.
AMAZON FIRE TABLET + HEADPHONES. If your child is over two, chances are they’ll be entertained by some short TV episodes or even a movie (if you’re lucky).
ARM & HAMMER DIAPER BAG DISPENSER WITH DISPOSABLE BAGS. Your fellow travelers will thank you.
AQUAPHOR. The cure-all for cuts, bruises and chapped skin.
BOOGIE WIPES. Because toddlers always have a runny nose.
BUMKINS SUPERBIB. The thinnest bib that takes up the same amount of space as a dollar bill.
CARE TOUCH ALCOHOL-FREE HAND SANITIZING WIPES. These sanitizing wipes are safe for littles.
DIAPERS. One for every two hours of travel is my rule of thumb.
GATHRE MICRO MAT. Luxury leather but make it easily cleanable with a wipe.
KIDS HYDRO FLASK. Because toddlers are always thirsty.
LOVEY FOR EACH CHILD.
OXO TOT ON-THE-GO WIPES DISPENSER FILLED WITH WIPES. Yes, you actually need this. Why bring a bulky pack of wipes that you’ll struggle to use one-handed?
MUNCHKIN PACIFIER WIPES. Because toddlers are always dropping pacifiers on the ground.
PACIFIERS. Because your toddler might need theirs—but also, they do help pressurize ears on ascent and descent.
SNACKS. Some of our children’s favorites include Annie’s cheddar bunnies, Belvita Breakfast Biscuits, Blue Diamond lightly salted almonds, Cerebelly snack bars, GoGo SqueeZ fruit pouches, MadeGood granola minis, Snyder’s mini pretzels, Whole Foods mini sandwich peanut butter crackers and easy to eat whole fruits like apples, bananas and clementines. I’ll also try to scoop up a Creminelli snack tray or Starbucks protein box at the airport.
SPARE PANTS + UNDIES (if applicable). Especially if your child is potty training.
STASHER PLATINUM SILICONE REUSABLE STORAGE BAGS for storing snacks, pacifiers, etc.
