What To Pack For Iceland.
Iceland is the epitome of adventure. Jaw dropping cliffs, vast glaciers, bubbling lava fields, and picturesque waterfalls abound. The experiences (and photo opportunities) are endless.
But widely varying temps and weather conditions that can change on a dime make packing challenging for the discerning traveler. A single day’s outfit must account for sun, rain, snow, wind, and +/- 20 degrees. Layers are key, as are appropriate footwear and outerwear for enjoying all that this vivid country has to offer.
I write from Hotel Ranga, where we are staying in the midst of a six-day adventure with Backroads traversing Iceland’s dramatic southern coast, bookended by evenings in Reykjavik, the city’s capital. Our days are active; we are hiking over mountains and volcanoes, ice walking on glaciers, boating across glacier lagoons, and driving super jeeps through the wild.
